Salah & Mane Down👊 Chelsea; Send L'pool top of the table!

Mohamed Salah's incredible long-range rocket helped Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League with a crucial 2-0 win over Chelsea. Manchester City's 3-1 win at Crystal Palace earlier on Saturday piled pressure on the Reds and they passed the test thanks to two second-half goals in almost as many minutes. Star man Salah rose to an emotionally charged occasion with a thumping 25-yard effort that whistled into the top-left corner and doubled the home side's lead following Sadio Mane's headed opener. The victory, Liverpool's first against Chelsea at Anfield in seven Premier League meetings, restored a two-point lead at the top for Jurgen Klopp's men and exorcised the demons of the infamous 2-0 loss in this fixture that shattered their 2013-14 title hopes.

Chelsea Are At a 😟Mental Limit - Sarri

Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri says his side have reached their mental "limit" after their top-four hopes were dented by Everton's second-half resurgence. As a result, the visitors failed to capitalise on their game in hand, and still sit sixth in the Premier League table, a point behind Manchester United, who they would have leapfrogged had they won. Victory would also have taken them level on points with fourth-placed Arsenal. "We played probably the best 45 minutes of the season and then suddenly at the beginning of the second half we stopped playing; I don't know why," said Sarri. "It is impossible that the situation is a physical problem because if it is, you can go down gradually, not in one second. "It is very difficult for me to explain the change. Probably it is a mental block." When asked how worried he was that Chelsea's mental situation has not been solved, Sarri said: "At the moment, this is our limit. "If we ...

Gonzalo Higuain has today joined Chelsea on a loan for the remainder of the season. Chelsea made the announcement on its official website. The 31-year-old striker moves to Stamford Bridge from Italian side Juventus. He spent the first half of the campaign on loan at AC Milan where he scored eight goals. Chelsea’s official statement partly read: “A proven goalscorer throughout his career, and an Argentina international, Higuain arrives with a wealth of experience at the highest level having consistently shown his attacking quality during spells in Argentina, Spain and Italy. “Clinical in and around the penalty area, as well as providing a strong aerial threat, Higuain previously played under Maurizio Sarri at Napoli in 2015/16, when he finished as top scorer in Serie A with 36 goals, breaking a long-standing Italian record. “Upon completing his loan move to Chelsea, Higuain, who will wear the number nine shirt, said: ‘When the opportunity to join Chelsea presented itself ...

Hudson odoi to reject chelsea deal

Hudson-Odoi to Reject Chelsea Deal Callum Hudson-Odoi will reject Chelsea’s offer of a new £85,000-a-week contract, as per reports. Bayern Munich have made four bids for the 18-year-old winger - the latest of which met Chelsea's £35m valuation. Hudson-Odoi is believed to be keen on moving to Bayern, and has made it clear to Chelsea he does not want to extend his contract at Stamford Bridge, which has just 18 months left. He has made just 14 first-team appearances for Chelsea, and his lack of opportunities is believed to be a factor in his desire to leave. Fellow young English wingers Jadon Sancho and Reiss Nelson have thrived since moving to the Bundesliga on permanent and loan deals respectively, with Sancho even earning a place in the England squad.

Just in: Morata for higuain!

Reports: Chelsea Keen on Higuain - Morata Swap Chelsea are keen on signing Gonzalo Higuain from AC Milan in a swap deal with Alvaro Morata, according to Sky in Italy. It is understood Blues boss Maurizio Sarri has huge respect for Higuain, who he worked with at Napoli and was interested in bringing to Chelsea in the summer. Morata is keen to return to Italy having previously spent two years with Juventus where he won two Serie A titles and two Coppa Italias. However, the deal would be complicated by the fact Higuain is on loan at AC Milan from Juventus. Higuain scored 36 league goals in the one season he worked with Sarri before leaving the San Paolo to join Juventus.
