Man Utd suffering from huge home hoodoo!

There's just something not quite right at Old Trafford this season... something that's stopping Manchester United be Manchester United. Gone are the days of Sir Alex Ferguson and that expectation of three points, of last-gasp goals and week-in, week-out wins. Although he's regularly watching on from the stands, there's a new man in town. Jose Mourinho is highly successful, his trophy cabinet bursting with silverware, but something must be done to arrest this serious slump in United's home form. 'If you feel pressure stay at home and watch on TV,' were the words Mourinho uttered to his players this week, amid claims they are scared to play in front of their own fans. For decades Old Trafford was a fortress, but that appears to be no more. In fact, the club's home form has never been this bad in the Premier League era... and not by a long way. Before this season, a win ratio of 57 per cent was the lowest United had achieved since the Premier Le...

Reps to declare June 12 democracy day!!!

Rep Speaks on Bill to Declare June 12 Democracy Day Rep Edward Pwajok, Chairman, House Committee on Rules and Business, says the bill to declare June 12 as Democracy Day instead of the current May 29 has no political coloration. The lawmaker, who represents Jos North/Jos East Federal Constituency of Plateau, made the clarification on Monday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja. President Muhammadu Buhari had, on June 6, directed that the nation’s Democracy Day would henceforth, hold on June 12 as against the current arrangement where the ceremony holds on May 29. Pwajok, who sponsored the bill, said although President Buhari made a pronouncement on making June 12 Nigeria’s Democracy Day, it must have legislative backing to take effect. He dispelled the insinuations that it was politically motivated with the intent of buying votes ahead 2019 general elections. According to him, I am the sponsor of the bill; I am not even going to contest any electio...

OMG 😱!!! World's first genetically edited babies!

World’s First Genetically Edited Babies Created in China A Chinese researcher claims that he helped make the world’s first genetically edited babies — twin girls born this month whose DNA he said he altered with a powerful new tool capable of rewriting the very blueprint of life. If true, it would be a profound leap of science and ethics. A US scientist said he took part in the work in China, but this kind of gene editing is banned in the United States because the DNA changes can pass to future generations and it risks harming other genes. Many mainstream scientists think it’s too unsafe to try, and some denounced the Chinese report as human experimentation. The researcher, He Jiankui of Shenzhen, said he altered embryos for seven couples during fertility treatments, with one pregnancy resulting thus far. He said his goal was not to cure or prevent an inherited disease, but to try to bestow a trait that few people naturally have — an ability to resist possible futur...

Apple defends iPhone in court!

Apple Defends iPhone App Fees as US Supreme Court Weighs Consumer Suit US Supreme Court will hear arguments Monday on accusations that Apple is using its market dominance to jack up prices for iPhone apps. A ruling against Apple, letting a lawsuit go forward, could add to pressure the company already faces to cut the 30 percent commission it charges on app sales. The case turns on what happens when iPhone users buy something at the Apple App Store. In allowing the suit, a federal appeals court said the transaction is a simple one in which consumers buy directly from Apple. Apple says it’s more complicated, with the company serving as a middleman connecting app developers with users. The distinction is critical because of a 1977 Supreme Court ruling that says only direct purchasers of a product can collect damages for overpricing under federal antitrust law. That decision was designed in part to ensure companies don’t have to pay twice for the same misconduct. Apple is part...
